Dracula

Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel follows a group of friends in Victorian England who are terrorized by Count Dracula, a supernatural vampire seeking to migrate from his isolated castle in Transylvania to London. The narrative is constructed as an epistolary collection of diaries, letters, and newspaper clippings, creating a fragmented yet urgent perspective on the unfolding horror. As the Count’s influence spreads, the protagonists, led by the learned Professor Van Helsing, must confront the ancient evil before it consumes the modern city. The story juxtaposes the rational, industrialized world of late nineteenth-century London against the archaic, mystical darkness of Eastern Europe, exploring themes of invasion, sexuality, and the fragility of sanity.
