I originally read this on Kindle, but then found a signed limited edition copy in my local Little Free Library so it is on my bookshelf as well :) best find to date
This collection gathers nine of Ted Chiang's most celebrated short stories, including two previously unpublished works. Chiang is renowned for crafting speculative fiction that functions as philosophical inquiry, using the mechanics of science fiction to explore timeless human questions. The stories range from a fabric seller in ancient Baghdad confronting the consequences of time travel to an alien scientist grappling with the thermodynamics of consciousness and free will. Each narrative is a self-contained thought experiment, designed to provoke deep reflection on topics such as determinism, the nature of reality, and the ethics of artificial intelligence.
