Spook Country
The second installment in the Blue Ant trilogy, Spook Country follows three distinct narratives that converge in the shadow of a global intelligence operation. Tito, a young Cuban-Russian speaker, performs delicate information transfers from a warehouse in NoLita. Hollis Henry, an investigative journalist, works for a magazine that does not yet exist, its absence actively suppressed by forces she cannot name. Milgrim, a high-end addict dependent on a mysterious supplier, is drawn into a military-adjacent network of locked rooms and nuanced espionage. The novel weaves these threads together, exploring the porous boundaries between virtual and physical reality, the commodification of data, and the invisible architectures of power that shape contemporary life.
