  1. Feb 21, 2022Twitter · reply@TomNorian @tszzl @vers_laLune I in no way equate intelligence with worth ... Which is why I'm a vegan.
  2. Feb 21, 2022Twitter · reply@TomNorian @tszzl @vers_laLune Is there an alternative metric I should be using?
  3. Feb 21, 2022Twitter · reply@SRtwofourfour Tbh, if they'd just block 66 eastbound right at beltway exit, and 395 northbound at Eisenhower, I'd be on their side
  4. Feb 21, 2022Twitter · reply@PunishedRobot @lalaAlicelala Yeah imo this question rewards those w low agreeableness, willing to say "question is invalid"
  5. Feb 21, 2022Twitter · reply@ObcyNieobcy @visakanv Lol, idk, I'm just imagining hearing this every time I eat something, pretty sure it would make me so uncomfortable that I'd stop eating
  6. Feb 21, 2022Twitter · reply@TomNorian @tszzl @vers_laLune Abnormal is abnormal, if not intentionally hidden. You don't expect someone w IQ of 50 to be normal.
  7. Feb 21, 2022Twitter · reply@tszzl @vers_laLune Another option is to accept diagnosis of incurable mental illness... Anyone w high enough IQ is weird enough to qualify. Incurably mentally ill ofc have no special duties.
  8. Feb 21, 2022Twitter · reply@vaporous_ford @alt1na1 First pic looks like a athletic genuine guy, second pic is fake fashionable caricature - jeans ripped and dirtied like some artistic reimagining of "wear & tear" paired with impractical pristine suede boots and ugly jacket.
  9. Feb 21, 2022Twitter · reply@8teAPi Is there any way to temporarily fix this? Need to run a hackathon brainstorming session, can't be facilitator and also the only one contributing ideas...

  12. Feb 21, 2022Twitter · reply@8teAPi 🤣 sometimes I do this, bipolar symptom... Generally judged to be obnoxious, except when aimed at a tricky production bug at work
  13. Feb 21, 2022Twitter · reply@8teAPi What's an "idea generator"? A human or a machine?
  14. Feb 21, 2022Twitter · reply@DistractedAnna Lol I feel hikercel is an appropriate use of -cel to refer to a decision likely to lead to celibacy.
  15. Feb 21, 2022Twitter · reply@visakanv Hah I feel like that would pretty quickly make me so self conscious I'd stop eating... Is this a weight loss program?

  32. Feb 20, 2022Twitter · reply@robinhanson Aww, I think it's a great idea, just didn't agree with quantifying the exact value of a gift as the reason to do it.
  33. Feb 20, 2022Twitter · reply@prerationalist How would I know which I am? (Or is it "none of the above if you have to ask"?)

  36. Feb 20, 2022Twitter · reply@BasedBeff Ha I was thinking contractor working with my hands on new construction or PV installation... Have rewired my house as a smarthome, would enjoy doing more sophisticated lighting installations & programming sigh
  37. Feb 20, 2022Twitter · reply@BasedBeff True- I really wanted to be an electrician in HS, but everyone unanimously advised against because I'm a woman
  38. Feb 20, 2022Twitter · reply@vgr Terrible, but also unsurprising. Teachers talk a good game about teaching how to think, but all they really want is for kids to sit down, shut up, and fill in the right bubbles on the standardized test.

  48. Feb 20, 2022Twitter · reply@WholeMarsBlog Today human drivers tend to overdrive their headlights, hit wildlife in the road etc... 49. Feb 20, 2022Twitter · reply@telmudic How do you prevent wannabes from false signaling? Imo the turn on is seeing your handle on a particularly impressive commit.
  50. Feb 20, 2022Twitter · reply@ATabarrok I'm far from convinced this works in practice... Code is a liability to maintain, you want to keep it slim and simple.

  54. Feb 20, 2022Twitter · reply@arctanno @PstafarianPrice @grantadever True... Imo schools need to spend more time reading large codebases- appreciate great code, critique and learn to fix poor code... It's all out there in open source repos on GitHub...
  55. Feb 20, 2022Twitter · reply@robinhanson @tylercowen Otoh maybe we're unbundling academia into greater specialization- see @tszzl's new schizo-autist theory of loose pattern matching ideation vs disciplined fact-checking pedantry...
  56. Feb 20, 2022Twitter · reply@robinhanson @tylercowen Yeah it seems worse to separate "fuck around" from "find out" - slower iteration, more unhinged theories on the internet...
  57. Feb 20, 2022Twitter · reply@VividVoid_ Imo building aggressive block lists is more intolerant than an intemperate reply to admitted bait.

  65. Feb 19, 2022Twitter · reply@PunishedRobot Scrubbing incriminating info about Epstein's buddies?
  66. Feb 19, 2022Twitter · reply@RokoMijic It's a question of how they learned leadership- men learned by rising through the ranks, the women that became leaders were usually related to previous male leader and so seen as a continuation.
  67. Feb 19, 2022Twitter · reply@RokoMijic On the war-making side, women are sidelined by babies and less physical strength... Male warriors build command structures and then expand into other realms?
  68. Feb 19, 2022Twitter · reply@robinhanson Also in normie US there's a taboo against sharing the exact dollar value of your gift- which is why gift receipts don't contain the dollar value- because we want to deemphasized transactional nature of relationships

  95. Feb 17, 2022Twitter · reply@alth0u It's saying the women are young, not the men... Most of this happens without criminal charges, abusers go on to abuse again and again, which is how you get a 1 in 4 number. The guy who date raped me was twice my age.
  96.
