  6. Feb 4, 2022Twitter · reply@MJBrendanawicz 🤣good luck with that!
  7. Feb 4, 2022Twitter · reply@ollyrobot I think the wordcel thing has resonance because each side has different feelings about where to go with this issue- what to do now that we've connected people to each other and they're somehow unhappier as a result.
  8. Feb 4, 2022Twitter · quoteyour last saved picture is a crucial clue to finding true love https://x.com/goblinodds/status/1489796935535890432 https://t.co/7UAVF6TwNk

  10. Feb 4, 2022Twitter · reply@C2ooth lol, I'm the one on the spectrum here, working on internet infrastructure. Don't expect to find a bf at all at this point.
  11. Feb 4, 2022Twitter · reply@Aella_Girl What about "positive" stereotypes about how women are more gentle / sensitive / pure, how we're better at caregiving, how valuable we are because we can give birth and men can't...?

  13. Feb 4, 2022Twitter · reply@Nexuist @righteousritard I have all these memories of people dying and family members in tears and bloody victims and a guy tased by police having a heart attack.... Seared into my memory by the emotional upset. Psych is less urgent so you wait hrs for a Dr before they'll give you any meds to calm down.
  14. Feb 4, 2022Twitter · reply@Nexuist @righteousritard Yeah- the real problem is massive reduction in psychiatric beds while meaning you sit in the hallway of the ER for hours, which is probably the most upsetting place to wait
  15. Feb 4, 2022Twitter · reply@Nexuist @righteousritard Yeah... My experiences ofc coincide with psychiatric meltdowns so I may not be objective here, lol... But I find them deeply unpleasant and the people not particularly friendly- making me take drug tests which are always clean because I'm bipolar not an addict
  16. Feb 4, 2022Twitter · reply@Nexuist @righteousritard Have you spent any significant time in a hospital? Older ones at least are very uncomfortable sensory overload with bright florescent lights on all night, unpredictable alarming noises, smell of sanitizer and plastic, hard furniture, lack of windows / nature / decor...
  17. Feb 4, 2022Twitter · reply@Noahpinion I enjoyed the first episodes of Gilded Age, seems promising with Downton Abbey guy involved. Station Eleven was good too (enjoyed it more than the book tbh).
  18. Feb 4, 2022Twitter · reply@selentelechia Thinking back, sis and I were definitely out of diapers by 3, niece and nephew likewise- nephew started quite young, voluntarily. My mom says with cloth diapers you feel the difference between clean & dirty, learn to ask to be changed, which leads to asking to use the toilet.
  19. Feb 4, 2022Twitter · reply@selentelechia Idk, but my sis & I were cloth diapered before disposables because ubiquitous, and then my sis used cloth diapers for niece & nephew because money / environment / that's the norm w her friends, so I thought disposables were just a brief trend / for travel?

  29. Feb 4, 2022Twitter · quoteThis, but unironically. Gardens are wonderful for mental health- cheering up the depressed, calming the anxious... I wanna work in a garden. https://x.com/photomatt/status/1489706144956178433
  30. Feb 4, 2022Twitter · reply@redoatz @tszzl Yeah, it's just... You don't draw the poison and heal the wounds by shutting down everyone who's still a work in progress... And meanwhile no one is perfect and there are prob things even she can learn from us.
  31. Feb 4, 2022Twitter · reply@redoatz @tszzl Yeah, rough edges- we might be clumsy, imperfect, frankly wrong at times, but being part of a community, talking honestly about controversial topics, is how we learn and grow. Tone policing shuts down the opportunity for us to say ugly things and get feedback that we're wrong.
  32. Feb 4, 2022Twitter · reply@redoatz @tszzl This is the positive heart of the rooncult thing... Rotator vs Wordcel is lighthearted theory of neurodiversity, but also with a tinge of bitterness because many of us have felt excluded from other social groups before
  33. Feb 4, 2022Twitter · reply@karolkarpinski @tszzl Lol, the upside of bipolar... Can imagine a lot of possibilities, just had to learn to focus on the most optimistic & funny ones 😜
  34. Feb 4, 2022Twitter · reply@tszzl Actually if you wanna win this, make it about neurodiversity and how you've created a little corner of the internet where being an Autist / Schizo / ADHD / whatever is still accepted and even celebrated
  35. Feb 4, 2022Twitter · reply@goblinodds Or all just downstream of learning social skills via internet, which loses all the nonverbal, so mutual understanding is always on shaky ground? 43. Feb 4, 2022Twitter · reply@emmaconcepts Idk, I feel like the interest comes from the recognition that we are more and more an attention economy and that understanding & making the most of neurodiversity is increasingly important?

  54. Feb 4, 2022Twitter · reply@tszzl Lol, wordcel PMs believe in performative speech- they speak, and so it shall be... Rotators gotta figure out the details

  75. Feb 4, 2022Twitter · reply@DistractedAnna yeah, I go for trying to get the best content & context on the screen for the reader so they don't have to click- really depends on whether there's media or link, how the other tweets are nested, how strongly I want to say something myself vs share something I saw.
  76. Feb 4, 2022Twitter · reply(ikik lots more to the story - other writing systems developed in other parts of the world, all the various historical & modern fonts... and another way of looking at it is that Wordcels give up some of their rotational ability to be the best Wordcels they can be?).
  77. Feb 4, 2022Twitter · reply@DistractedAnna :) it's interesting - some ppl seem offended if you don't link your take on top of theirs (for engagement / credit for originating the content?) ... others seen irritated that people don't remove them from boring digressions... Twitter etiquette is not always obvious!

  79. Feb 3, 2022Twitter · quoteTech Insider take on Shape Rotation vs Wordcel discourse 🤣 ... Pointing out that human identification of objects is generally invariant to rotation & reflection, but letters aren't - so Wordcels struck the first blow, alienating the best rotators from written language. https://x.com/TechInsider/status/1488661143195467776
  80. Feb 3, 2022Twitter · reply@LucreSnooker @gbrl_dick @peachblvd @BenRatkey @eurydicelives @growing_daniel 🤣 is that really a bad thing though? If someone can't pause his rationalism long enough to understand why humans love neotenized cuteness, he probably isn't someone you want to involve in your dating life?
