It's a very weak signal of grifting, but on its own is safe. The optimal amount of grift isn't zero, anyway. (There was a huge "get your grift on" thread here recently, which is probably why it's topical. Just avoid being those folks and you should be fine.)
oh I missed that! I've seen some ppl have their various explanations for why they don't have much money and/or need extra funds (often medical)... others saying it's abt "paying content creators" ... idk
