this one time I went to a play called I Am My Own Wife about a trans woman in germany in the 30s, and 3/4 in she had a touching monologue about her loneliness and how she doesn’t need anyone because “I am my own wife” and in the front row this old man goes “OOHhhhhh” in the loudest most earnest way
