I do kind of appreciate the idea that the internet is better when you're making an effort to be more rounded and not overdose on politics arguments, but it gets tiring when some people claim it's best fully avoided despite them doing lots of obvious political posturing.
imo it's not that we're pretending not to do politics, it's abt not hijacking ppl's attention with emotive political slogans- trying to engage system 2 rather than system 1 thinking
being a bit obscure means the takes don't pattern-match into red tribe / blue tribe allegiance, so ppl who wanna do the dogpile politics scroll past, leaving space for slower smaller conversations
