@mattparlmer Idk, but was just thinking about the human instinct for ritual when interacting with complex systems... On one hand it's good to question arbitrary historical decisions that impose limits, on the other it is useful to minimize number of independent variables when debugging...
@mattparlmer I long for conservativism when I'm helping someone solve an issue- "what did you change just before it broke?" ... "Well, this, and that, and the other, and idk if.." (long list of arbitrary differences)
