@yeetgenstein @QiaochuYuan Yeah I'm genuinely curious... Is it a particular region or subculture? While my Appalachian/Upper Midwest ancestry is opposed to making a big show of consumption/ luxury, they consider thrift, investing, and innovating to be virtuous and deserving of quietly held wealth.
