@BlckCatBlckSky @sreekotay I... It is funny, I left HS at 15 and did study geometry and organic chemistry and structural engineering from old textbooks... then went to college for computer science and placement tested straight into calculus. I guess I don't know what I don't know...

@BlckCatBlckSky @sreekotay For a time after I dropped out I did seriously think I'd apprentice to be an electrician, as I'd learned the basics from my dad as a child, enough to do simple handyman jobs that needed doing... So who am I to judge whether everyone needs to learn to read.

@BlckCatBlckSky @sreekotay On the other hand my own family has a knack for reading- we all taught ourselves how before we were old enough for school, and my sister reads 200+ books per year as a stay-at-home mom.
