@PareeDave @wmui1 @David_Charts @mattyglesias Yeah valuation of raw land is a tough problem- it's an irregular scrap of land under an airport flight path but happens to sit between backbone fiber on both sides... County assessment is relative to other nearby scraps of land because they can't account for every unique factor.
@PareeDave @wmui1 @David_Charts @mattyglesias The real scam is the like-kind exchange rule- we're planning to buy other nearby land with same zoning with the proceeds of the sale, so it doesn't count as capital gains in this tax yr.
