@PradyuPrasad @tszzl They play all sorts of games to extend patent protection and gain market share vs generics... Right around when they're about to lose patent protection they'll come out with a new extended release formulation, or a new combo pill that puts together two old drugs into one, etc
@PradyuPrasad @tszzl Which are good innovations, but they intentionally wait to do them to maximize patent protection and market share... Also drug reps spend ridiculous sums to sweeten up doctors to prescribe the new brand-name version rather than the workable generic
