@MeiselZachary I think paper / cardboard is relatively best recyclable material, and far better for environment if it does end up in a landfill. Wood is mostly pine from tree farms- when you cut lumber you get leftover wood chips & shavings which they use for pulp, so really not terrible.
@MeiselZachary One issue has been if you mix plastics into cardboard, it's less recyclable... I think Amazon has changed their packing tape to be paper-based so this is less of an issue
