@DistractedAnna Some people imagine "forgiveness" to mean wiping the slate clean as if it never happened- imo that's an unrealistic expectation. Even if it was possible I wouldn't recommend it- would mean a less accurate picture of who someone is and opening yourself to being a victim again.

@DistractedAnna Maybe forgiveness would mean allowing the person to continue being in your life, giving them a chance to contextualize their actions with further new information... Imo this decision depends on cost/benefit of further interaction and sometimes the answer is no.

@DistractedAnna Some people might say forgiveness is an emotional thing... And ofc that's where you lose me- in my bipolar Aspie brain emotions are like weather, always changing, and only a minor factor in my decisions... So emotional "forgiveness" is both automatic and irrelevant?
