@punishedlump To me it starts with the Serenity Prayer- knowing what’s in my control… for things within my influence I try to be rational to make the best decision; once it’s out of my hands I imagine the best case possibilities so at least I enjoy the time before I find out the real outcome
@punishedlump And I do this consciously- accept my powerlessness over the uncertain situation and that the outcome might be bad- but there’s nothing I can do, so I choose to enjoy the good possibilities until I have to update with reality
@punishedlump And in my experience, imagining a variety of good outcomes can lead to the realization that there actually *is* something I could do to improve the odds of a particular outcome… so over time I think this habit is positive EV
