I’ve been struggling with focus and productivity, as many ppl do… looking to get there without stimmies or anxiety or harshly overriding the part of me that’s resisting… any thoughts on how to resolve the inner “ugh it hurts” resistance to working on my to do list?
Thanks!!! Y’all are what makes Twitter so much more appealing than the things on my to do list… 🫶 Thinking about what I resist, there’s a few patterns: - snarled messes that make my brain hurt to untangle - tracking down ppl to get them to do something for me - decisions
- that final 10% of finishing something, seeing the result, and moving on to the next thing - tasks where I really think we’re down the wrong path but I’ve exhausted my options to appeal
- facing up to losses & mistakes- like, having a suspicion I bought the wrong type of battery and leaving it to sit there instead of opening the device to check- really it’s resistance to “buy batteries” going back on the to do list hmm
I think a lot of what’s going on is self-protective, avoiding mental overload… I don’t want to google obscure error messages and get lost in tabs, I don’t want to ping ppl and add their reply to incoming interruptions, I don’t want to turn one big task into 20 smaller ones
