@rainbowheart34 that for all that we want to be equal, we aren't- that intelligence & emotional stability & physical strength & health & etc are not distributed equally and DO matter for life outcomes, individually and collectively - living in a high trust, healthy, productive society is preferable; being healthy and capable and high EQ and happy is preferable; and there's no magical hidden compensating virtues to make it fair. and that historical advantages / disadvantages tend to persist through generations - some people are born to traumatized parents and are traumatized in turn and are more likely to traumatize their children, etc... even if it's not their "fault". and people born with greater capabilities are not aware of the scale of their luck and feel they've worked hard for their accomplishments; people born into disadvantage feel the deck was stacked against them and they're *owed* for the trauma inflicted on them. basically, there's no way to balance the books which everyone will agree is fair - we're all the heirs to ancestral debts that can't be repaid from the people who caused the damage, because they're no longer around.
