first election I worked was the 2016 Presidential, which is always the most busy... we had ballots with blotchy edges from the printer, kept getting rejected by the scanner, sending voters back, confused why their vote wasn't accepted.... was utter chaos

not really, I kinda think our issues are upstream of actual voting regardless of exact methodology
true, but also.... having ppl who loved me motivated me to check myself into treatment, to try to everything before killing myself, but living for other people isn't really reason enough imo
no. the future I imagine is more ecological- AIs of various capabilities & resource requirements & motivations, competing and collaborating and feeding on each other
yes it will be different but also humans are humans... until we engineer ourselves to be something more..?

I run a precinct which includes an hour of paperwork to count & report & seal the votes & drop off the ballots at the courthouse
the vote counting process we follow makes it difficult for any one person to change the count of votes and for any single precinct to change the count by much- have detailed in previous threads the process we follow in Virginia... so yes who votes counts because of how we count…
