thinking about community... vibes matter- how friendly it is, how open to disagreement & independent thinking, what earns status vs. what is ignored, what beliefs and mindsets does it encourage in members (both stated goals & empirically in practice)
i'm overall proud of e/acc vibes: building cool stuff, fitness & health, hanging out with supportive friends, optimism & problem solving attitude, friendly but open to debate and different perspectives, people doing their own thing not trying to climb an e/acc ladder
vs tbh... tpot sometimes... i have increasing qualms 😞 trying to figure out why i feel this way
ig w e/acc ppl i've had nerdy arguments w lots of ppl and witnessed uglier fights, but they feel psychologically safe, like there's a community who try to intermediate & deescalate, & ppl cool off and get over things & reorient to shared goal of e/acc future
i super respect e/acc ppl like @bayeslord and @entelechiada who have overwhelmingly positive vibes but are not afraid of speaking their mind and being disagreeable ... yet without getting emotional themselves when other ppl getting heated
