wrt chaos' record, how i got it and why i shared it: i was telling a friend about my vague warning tweet and how I felt constrained by the ppl who told me their stories not wanting to come forward, angry about even the vague tweet, and that id heard rumor of a criminal record but without the details 🤷‍♀️ ... friend happens to be a professional investigator and said "hey what's the twitter handle, now im curious..." i sent it and they spent an hour using public twitter and other public data to find the public record i shared here without me giving them *any* other detail from the ppl who had sworn me to secrecy... so i had this info clean & separate from the whisperers (who seemed to want it to continue as a secret?), so then what? chaos had casually invited me to visit back before any of this. i'd not taken the invite seriously because we weren't close, just a few DMs about solar panels, but if i HAD gone and had a bad experience of the sort i've heard described.... and then found out many ingroup tpot ppl had known abt the other bad experiences & the criminal record and kept it secret... the feeling of betrayal by the community would have added to the trauma and loss of trust. i feel loyalty to the community overall more than to any of the individuals involved and felt it was right to give ppl info to make informed decisions about their interactions w him especially irl.
