running is the most mentally beneficial thing for me... some of it seems inherent in the activity, but also i make choices / practice in a way that maxxes the bliss? - running in nature ideally on dirt trails near a stream, and attending to the sensory experience - otherwise, listening to music w positive lyrics n vibes, often kinda imagining i'm dancing to the music - intuitive playful choices wrt speed and route- sometimes getting lost, speeding up like a kid playing at recess, walking to look at a pretty view, not worrying about my distance or time, walking if i've had enough - listening to my body, focusing on form and relaxing any tension, finding graceful even strides and stillness at the center of the movement- sometimes feels like i'm floating, pushing a bit through good pain but adjusting / stopping at twinges of bad pain - i have a positive inner voice that cheers me on & feels very loving... sometimes when i'm working hard the rest of my mind stills, feels like i'm listening to an inner voice that's not me - mental practice of feeling my feelings, appreciating them, and letting them go w reminder to myself i can drop the narrative and choose to feel joy whenever i want... this + the endorphins sometimes results in transcendent bliss vibes, i'm usually smiling and sometimes giggling to myself while running because it feels so good
