interesting full take but also reminds me of my confusion recently wrt reinforcement learning approach to incentivizing good behavior n punishing bad vs. like the "shame keeps us trapped, (self) love is the answer" response to improving bad habits....

i've seen quakers w their kids and it's very nurturing n understanding vibes n the kids are mostly well behaved and cutely exuberant despite being cuddled when upset and generally not scolded or bribed.... so i'm very suspicious of the Rationalist thing of like candy rewards

and i've been very gentle / lax w myself the past few years... i feel lighter & less tense & closer to default joyful for it all, but i'm def scattered n unproductive n don't have the self trust wrt following through on my own plans...
