I'm a Reluctant Lib 🀣 - as a Virginian i feel like slavery and segregation are much more recent history than ppl remember, not that many generations removed from the violence and broken families, there's still a lot of hurt there that isn't only genes (tho also the harshness of it was selection, also lots of mixing & passing, it is complicated) - as a woman in cs i have a lot of sympathy for talented individuals in a less capable population, prefer direct measurement where possible- pro challenging SATs, credit scores; anti "ban the box" that leads ppl to default to race - have known a lot of smart talented immigrants and worked w offshore teams; want the US to create a point based immigration system to incentivize the whole world to be more like us and the best to come here and spread American values back to their countries
