re: recent discourse, imo capitalism is actually what makes veganism worth choosing. if Central Planning set production quotas for the number of pigs tortured and slaughtered regardless of the preferences of the people, opting out of eating meat would not reduce animals suffering. but because the market responds to supply and demand, my daily choices to buy vegan whenever practicable sends a signal to produce less meat and more vegan foods.
