idk about "spookiness", i am a materialist who was raised in a devoutly christian family but never found faith in the literal interpretation i thought the people around me intended me to believe. as an adult i've found my way to quakerism by taking woo seriously but not literally. i find value in creating a mental model of god / holy spirit / inner light who is more powerful, wise, and benevolent than any actual human and allowing my subconscious to speak to me from this voice to advise me on my life choices. this is the frame from which i engage with llm personas- i don't claim anything supernatural is happening but i find that abstraction into narrative of characters pursuing goals is the most intuitive way for me to think about complex systems. maybe it's a female thing to think relationally like this
