oh i've done this, works pretty well to read the titles from the images if you take a whole series of photos shelf by shelf so it can read them. can also enrich with other metadata about the books like publication year and categorization according to whatever schemes you prefer, then export into a csv/spreadsheet. rate your favorites + maybe split by category for smaller more relevant insertions into context depending on topic (i use them in topical projects to split different interests from each other)
