imo yes, specifically stemming from sexual reproduction even if shaped by cultural expectations. women are physically weaker -> unlikely to win a physical fight and need support from others to make it through pregnancy and nursing, vs men don't have those limitations but otoh their reproduction is more winner-take-all so taking more risks is rewarded
