A Better World
In this second installment of the Brilliance Saga, the world has been fundamentally altered by the emergence of "brilliant" humans, a small percentage of the population born with extraordinary psychic abilities. Since 1980, these individuals have possessed gifts ranging from sensing intimate secrets to predicting market trends, creating a widening societal divide between the enhanced and the rest of humanity. The narrative picks up as a terrorist network led by brilliants cripples major cities, leaving infrastructure in ruins and society on the brink of collapse.
Nick Cooper, a brilliant himself and an advisor to the U.S. President, finds himself at the center of this escalating crisis. As America slides toward civil war, Cooper is forced to engage in a high-stakes conflict against opponents who share his desire for a better world but are willing to destroy the current one to achieve it. The novel explores the political and personal consequences of this divide, blending thriller pacing with speculative social commentary on power, security, and the definition of normalcy in a post-scarcity, high-surveillance society.
