Alanna: The First Adventure

In the fantasy realm of Tortall, Alanna of Trebond defies the rigid social expectations of her time by disguising herself as her twin brother, Alan, to pursue a career as a knight. While her brother heads to a convent to study magic, Alanna travels to the castle of King Roald to begin her training as a page. The narrative follows her rigorous physical and mental education, where she must master swordsmanship and horsemanship while navigating the complex politics of the court. As she progresses from page to squire, Alanna learns to control her temper and discern true allies from enemies, laying the groundwork for her eventual destiny as a legendary warrior and mage.
