Squire

In the third installment of the Protector of the Small series, fourteen-year-old Keladry of Mindelan continues her unconventional apprenticeship as a squire to Lord Raoul, the commander of the Tortallian army. Standing nearly six feet tall and possessing a strength that belies her age, Kel navigates the rigid social expectations of a medieval fantasy kingdom where women are rarely permitted to serve in military roles. As she trains alongside other squires, she must prove her worth not only through physical endurance but through the development of her unique magical abilities, which are increasingly tied to the political stability of the realm.
