Blue Adept

The second installment in Piers Anthony's Apprentice Adept series, Blue Adept follows the protagonist Stile as he navigates the dual realities of Proton and Phaze. On Proton, a world governed by technology and rigid social hierarchies, Stile exists as a serf, competing in the Great Games to prove his right to exist. Simultaneously, on Phaze, a realm where magic is the primary force, he strives to master the powers of sorcery as the Blue Adept. The narrative is driven by a relentless pace of action, as Stile faces assassination attempts from a powerful enemy known as the Citizen, while also engaging in romantic pursuits and battling dragons. The plot weaves together elements of hard science fiction and high fantasy, requiring the protagonist to adapt his skills across two fundamentally different physical laws.
