Dragonquest

Dragonquest is the second novel in Anne McCaffrey's Dragonrider series, set on the planet Pern. The story follows F'lar, a dragonrider who has been exiled to the remote Hold of Benden after a political dispute with the Weyr leadership. While F'lar attempts to rebuild his life and manage the local dragon population, the colony faces a new and escalating threat: the Threads, a deadly spore that falls from the sky and kills everything it touches. As the frequency of Threadfalls increases, the dragonriders must coordinate their efforts to intercept the strands in the air, but internal tensions and the limitations of their current tactics force F'lar to seek a more sustainable solution for Pern's survival.
