Apr 12, 2023Bluesky · replyand found that I prefer to engage w ppl as if they're being sincere even when they may not be- if it's a joke / sarcasm that landed wrong they'll usually switch to sincere mode and explain... vs the pain of responding sarcastically to someone who was being vulnerable and it came out awkward, ugh!

I think my own experiences of this make me tend to assume ppl are being sincere
