  3. Feb 12, 2022Twitter · reply(conspiracy theory mimi says these guys are in league w the truckers planning to disrupt traffic)
  4. Feb 12, 2022Twitter · quoteAs usual, bridges around here don't get fixed till they are failing and require load restrictions & closed lanes. God forbid DC should need to be evacuated. https://x.com/ARLnowDOTcom/status/1492382108270092291

  7. Feb 12, 2022Twitter · reply@edavidds This ad is absurd... But if it pushes someone into seeing a therapist maybe they need help?
  8. Feb 12, 2022Twitter · repostRT @visakanv: I'm not going to begrudge women for saying "men are trash". That is their experience. They've been born and raised in a world…

  13. Feb 11, 2022Twitter · reply@Noahpinion Given DC shitty cab driver games I'm just happy the app handles the fare... Had a 10 min standoff w cab driver over whether his credit card machine was in fact "broken" vs whether I in fact had $120 cash (from BWI after flight diverted)
  14. Feb 11, 2022Twitter · reply@sadalsvvd @losingcontrol23 Ha hope you don't regret... 🤷‍♀️ But that's what unfollow is for ig 😜
  15. Feb 11, 2022Twitter · reply@sadalsvvd Lol #5000
  16. Feb 11, 2022Twitter · reply@MasterTimBlais Awww... A bunch of other dudes made the same dumb "joke" of being proud of their ignorance- I tend to attribute it to insecurity wrt their masculinity. Meanwhile, the algo has other plans for me n Roko lol https://t.co/cMMNU8eRLl
  17. Feb 11, 2022Twitter · reply@_holyweather @SoupOfToday Happy to be connected to the culture that is roon's Schizo reply-guys 💕
  18. Feb 11, 2022Twitter · reply@ask_ourself @jdcmedlock I mean, my actual expenses in high CoL city are $42K / yr... The rest is like taxes and savings and charity 🤷‍♀️
  19. Feb 11, 2022Twitter · reply@tszzl Hah, but also useful to keep pretending to care when it's socially advantageous (like, underling is ranting and needs to get it out before coming around to solve their own problem)
  20. Feb 11, 2022Twitter · reply@ask_ourself @jdcmedlock This assumes significant UBI, if it's $100 / mo they won't... And assumes taxes would go up on tech salaries to pay for it, so gap between tech vs pursue passion project would close from both ends.
  21. Feb 11, 2022Twitter · reply@seldom_differ @jdcmedlock With covid, team working for a healthcare distributor quickly threw together new code to centralize allocation of limited goods like PPE during a shortage (previously was a local thing because shortages were localized hiccups)... OSS as it stands today doesn't solve this?
  22. Feb 11, 2022Twitter · reply@ask_ourself @jdcmedlock They wanna go back to school for academia / research, or start a low-margin family business / hobby farm, or take time off to homeschool, or pursue artistic aspirations ... It isn't "do nothing" but it's certainly "do something of significantly lower economic value than coding"
  23. Feb 11, 2022Twitter · reply@seldom_differ @jdcmedlock Different code though, they're not gonna be coding port / rail yard management tools 🤷‍♀️

  28. Feb 11, 2022Twitter · reply@TheGattoniCelli @janefgreen It's funny, I used to live in Riverhouse, moved up Columbia Pike for affordability when rent went up... More units in Pentagon City keeping rent competitive = less ppl doing what I did and raising market-rate affordable rents on the Pike
  29. Feb 11, 2022Twitter · reply@TheGattoniCelli Eyeroll... Would they prefer Riverhouse be converted to 100% income-restricted affordable units as tenants leave? This is a great location for density and would replace surface parking lots, not losing anything appealing.
  30. Feb 11, 2022Twitter · reply@chrisabraham @dctexpoet Well, Zionism in the sense of consolidating to be a majority?
  31. Feb 11, 2022Twitter · reply@chrisabraham @dctexpoet Imo the aggressive ones become that way after being on the receiving end of judgemental evangelism... Radicalized them into fighting back and seeking to expand their faction for protection.

  42. Feb 11, 2022Twitter · reply@jdcmedlock Asked around and all the techies I work with had alternative plans they'd pursue if UBI enabled a big paycut... Might not drop out entirely but tech shortage would grow, either lost GDP or tech wages go up a lot (esp bec taxes to pay for it) & inequality return 🤷‍♀️
