  7. Dec 26, 2021Twitter · reply@shahidnowshad @lilaexpt Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman is a personal fave, but any really. And I do like 1Q84, but it was a slow read
  8. Dec 26, 2021Twitter · reply@shahidnowshad @lilaexpt 1q84 is a long one, worth it imo as a fan, but I usually recommend his short stories for quick hits of poignant magic
  9. Dec 26, 2021Twitter · reply@digitalgnomead @AdsoOfBelk @thebestestpie Might work out if you can get govt bailout when you lose your bad bets? I respect the social capital, though I have very little of it myself

  19. Dec 25, 2021Twitter · reply@MeiselZachary @elonmusk @cyantist Hah I was about to reply that I think Elon has mixed feelings about *consumption of luxury goods* not capitalism itself. Why do you wanna indulge?
  20. Dec 25, 2021Twitter · reply@MeiselZachary @elonmusk @cyantist The article is obnoxious, but less upsetting imo than "professional" journalists repeating the false rumor that Elon's $50K house is a Boxabl when he's tweeted otherwise.

Everything is perfect and mom is sitting on the porch with her glass of wine, giving hearty seasons greetings to all the neighbors (she's up for re-election, taking every opportunity to sell herself as the most friendly, reasonable, concerned)

  52. Dec 24, 2021Twitter · reply@ArtfulDodger183 @Noahpinion No longer believing photographic "evidence" is a larger problem, hopefully web3 can solve 😜 but in the meantime, journalistic ethics should encourage professional media to at least not promulgate fake photos without clear caption noting the context

  56. Dec 24, 2021Twitter · reply@Virtual1nstinct See this is why it's a bad idea- ofc I'm neurodivergent and ofc I feel vaguely offended by this phrasing.
  57. Dec 24, 2021Twitter · reply@ArtfulDodger183 @Noahpinion If people are staging (or photoshopping) images, I think this would be a net negative as it would reinforce conspiracy theories
  58. Dec 24, 2021Twitter · reply@Virtual1nstinct So you're saying neurotribes should separate into silos of people who act alike? Strong disagree.

  63. Dec 24, 2021Twitter · postTop reasons I unfollow: 3) TMI personal posts (I don't wanna know about your IBS) 2) RTs of ugly seizure-inducing NFTs 1) trypophobia triggers
  64. Dec 24, 2021Twitter · reply@cattusdixit @Noahpinion Lol, follow for Noah + female (need more to balance the techie frens) + cute kitties

  69. Dec 23, 2021Twitter · reply@BiologyFool No for trial integrity
  70. Dec 23, 2021Twitter · reply@BiologyFool Oops subtract my vote, I was curious what others said and have no opinion because I haven't researched it
  71. Dec 23, 2021Twitter · reply@twinfrey @vgr Tell me more?!?
  72. Dec 23, 2021Twitter · reply@vgr Surprised you don't mention the possibility of longevity tech within our lifespan? Or do you consider the odds so low as to be irrelevant? I care about the distant future because I think it's possible I might be living in it.
  73. Dec 23, 2021Twitter · reply@deepfates My kitty is a TV addict- loves nature programming and opera music.
  74. Dec 23, 2021Twitter · reply@appodlachia @dst6n01 Bezos has three nightmares, and the kid who plays Tiny Tim is gonna win an Oscar for breakout star
  75. Dec 23, 2021Twitter · repostRT @dyerAndie: Seems I offended most people with my Christmas cards this year. Well done dyer. 😂 https://t.co/ydEJH2koCI
  76. Dec 23, 2021Twitter · reply@Noahpinion @EagleOnMars 🤣
  77. Dec 23, 2021Twitter · reply@vgr Also I'd fund investigative journalists paired with idealist techies to go develop sources and dig into all the shady stuff I can't talk about myself
  78. Dec 23, 2021Twitter · reply@vgr Also I would totally try to build my version of web3- one that actually delivers on freedom from nation-state regulation (but under my own governance protocol, not a haven for criminals)
  79. Dec 23, 2021Twitter · reply@vgr Also would pay for studies of systemic risk of cloud concentration and other technological risk, and pay to develop / improve alternatives to heavily relied upon software.... Like, Adobe, ♥️ u, but if I have enough money to not care, Gimp is getting forked
  80. Dec 23, 2021Twitter · reply@vgr Hmmmph, either I'm an exception, I'm delusional or you're wrong, because I'm pretty confident I could spend large amounts of money (though there's a bootstrapping process of hiring good staff as a force multiplier ofc).
  81. Dec 23, 2021Twitter · reply@vgr Ofc I'd also buy & massively fund my local news (ARLnow) to expand into other markets while collecting metrics on civic engagement... Anywhere I live or travel should have quality local news with a sense of humor
  82. Dec 23, 2021Twitter · reply@vgr Also with sufficient billions I'd push harder on the starchips project and maybe alternate approaches, and push to seed other planets & starsystems with bacteria
  83. Dec 23, 2021Twitter · reply@vgr Oh also, with sufficient billions I'd build an octopus-human communication center, somewhere between resort & research center... Octopi are fascinating and deserve far more respect 💕
  84. Dec 23, 2021Twitter · reply@vgr Actually also would assemble teams to build out my backlog of other app ideas... Or maybe all of this falls under hedonistic satisfaction?
  85. Dec 23, 2021Twitter · reply@vgr (profits would be put towards incentives for certain authors to come stay and finish certain books I want to read.... Ahem Patrick Rothfuss and George RR Martin)
  86. Dec 23, 2021Twitter · reply@vgr If budget allowed, I'd also build a live-work center... Place that specifically supports focused work by removing distractions and providing optimal conditions and support... It'd be a high-end thing, but ideally I could use it to iterate on more automated mass solutions too
  87. Dec 23, 2021Twitter · reply@tszzl @vgr Roon and the seveneves?
  88. Dec 23, 2021Twitter · reply@vgr I suppose if all my hedonistic desires are satisfied I'd already own riverfront acreage along the Shenandoah as well as the mountainside above my cabin for hiking trails & invasive plant removal (the seeds carry, very frustrating).
  89. Dec 23, 2021Twitter · reply@vgr One billion wouldn't go all that far- family land near my home @ us-east-1 is going for $2.8M / acre, but I'd try to preserve sensitive threatened ecosystems in Appalachia.
  90. Dec 23, 2021Twitter · reply@vgr Buying land to preserve and restore wilderness 💕
  91. Dec 23, 2021Twitter · quote👀 ... Not a shape rotator? https://x.com/HargroveAlex/status/1474097584994242570 https://t.co/vCFhtdKyuc
  92. Dec 23, 2021Twitter · reply@WholeMarsBlog Wifi is probably connected to starlink... Personally I'm bitter because I'm still waitlisted and have no internet access at my cabin (which is also smaller than his shack). 😛
  93. Dec 23, 2021Twitter · repostRT @alongthepike: ARLnow is great, for this and many other reasons; we're lucky to have them.
  94. Dec 23, 2021Twitter · reply@TaliaRinger @USpeaks Totally- Omicron was distributed by Gates-Yankee Candle conspiracy
  95. Dec 22, 2021Twitter · reply@WholeMarsBlog So much for "permissionless" 🤣
