  2. Jan 7, 2022Twitter · reply@Aella_Girl No, because I have no reason to think it would be successfully collected and we have better ways to spend our meagre resources.
  3. Jan 7, 2022Twitter · reply@asingleoat vaguely ill?
  4. Jan 6, 2022Twitter · reply@RokoMijic Literally everyone not named Trump knows this is the only sensible course of action, the problem is that everyone was scared of being shot as the messenger.
  5. Jan 6, 2022Twitter · reply@Noahpinion New Jersey service stations better hurry up and lobby for a ban on plugging in your own car!
  6. Jan 6, 2022Twitter · reply@amyalkon I wish! I have this recurring dream where I'm assembling furniture with Elon Musk....
  7. Jan 6, 2022Twitter · reply@eurydicelives Yeah if I'm feeling insecure the last thing I want is to hear a guys' opinion of whether I "look fat". Men do not fully understand or appreciate the hormone / water retention thing and anything they say is gonna come off wrong.
  8. Jan 6, 2022Twitter · reply@amyalkon Sigh speak for yourself.
  9. Jan 6, 2022Twitter · reply@QuinnyPig @awscloud Lol, funny mental image of using Sidewalk Bridges between us-east-1 datacenters...

  11. Jan 6, 2022Twitter · reply@SatireRedacted Reliably detecting parody is a superhuman skill.
  12. Jan 6, 2022Twitter · reply@kyzcralotSxaM You'd probably get restless, take up a hobby, get a little TOO into it, eventually turn into a bit of a side hustle... Brewing or cabinetry or bow-hunting. Sounds pleasant.
  13. Jan 6, 2022Twitter · reply@richburroughs Xanax. For something occasional like the dentist, always Xanax.
  14. Jan 6, 2022Twitter · reply@MeiselZachary Hopefully make up all very very happy denizens of your dream 🙂
  15. Jan 6, 2022Twitter · reply@octal @BellaRudd1 @RokoMijic @Benoit03157452 I don't think this is an argument against the idea... Paying proven skilled parents to have a few more kids sounds a lot more promising than trying to push pregnancy on chaotic dysfunctional childless people.
  16. Jan 6, 2022Twitter · repostRT @SarahTheHaider: “No jobs are low skill” is a good example of idea that feels extremely righteous to hold, but is obviously not true at…

  18. Jan 6, 2022Twitter · reply@alongthepike @bikeshare @Starbucks @GiantFood @CelticOnThePike Columbia Pike should convert outer lanes to bus/bike lanes, at least east of Glebe.

  22. Jan 6, 2022Twitter · postFrom my mom- FL 55+ community, outdoor water aerobics class last Wed infected everyone with (probably) covid; yesterday one of the participants was found dead in her home. Moral of the story- get a pulse-ox and go to the ER if you aren't getting enough oxygen.
  23. Jan 6, 2022Twitter · reply@QiaochuYuan Gotta go with the wings

  27. Jan 6, 2022Twitter · reply@Halmsy @amasad it's adorable when we show an apple and ask "what is it?" the response is an eager confident "Ball!"
  28. Jan 6, 2022Twitter · repostRT @nate_bronze: @Noahpinion we should refocus the branding of zoning issues as “right to build” and “legalize apartments”. that would actu…

  32. Jan 5, 2022Twitter · repostRT @QuinnyPig: Git was decentralized too, and the first thing we did with it was centralize on GitHub.
  33. Jan 5, 2022Twitter · reply@RokoMijic I don't disagree with this in the abstract. As you are applying it.... I think Twitter doesn't work well for comparing complex layered worldviews
  34. Jan 5, 2022Twitter · reply@RokoMijic Apparently we have deep differences- as I said let's shift to robots so everyone can be happy.
  35. Jan 5, 2022Twitter · reply@RokoMijic ??? Don't understand how this helps. The guy was someone in you'd think of as a great marriage prospect... I'm glad it was only one time not being married off to him to suffer the rest of my life.
  36. Jan 5, 2022Twitter · reply@RokoMijic Idk. From the female side I think this kind of stuff has always happened- what's changed is having enough power and independence to say no.
  37. Jan 5, 2022Twitter · reply@RokoMijic Also he worked for the same big corp as me- the whole group did- just seemed like a ton of drama and forcing people to take sides.
  38. Jan 5, 2022Twitter · reply@RokoMijic No, that didn't seem like it would make me feel any better, and I didn't wanna get questions about why I was at a party and drinking in the first place.
  39. Jan 5, 2022Twitter · reply@RokoMijic My bad experiences had nothing to do with dating apps- I've never used them tbh.
  40. Jan 5, 2022Twitter · repostRT @Noahpinion: This is bad, right?

  43. Jan 5, 2022Twitter · post🤔 Virginia is getting a "Chief Transformation Officer", and it's a McKinsey guy... Worth a try https://www.baconsrebellion.com/wp/this-could-be-interesting-virginia-to-get-a-chief-transformation-officer/amp/
  44. Jan 5, 2022Twitter · reply(side note, I'd love to see Virginia lower the voting age to 16- high school is a good time to get everyone through their first voter experience vs figuring out absentee options during the chaos of your first months away at college)
  45. Jan 5, 2022Twitter · quoteOur election system worked as designed and the kid should only be shamed if he was rude. VA lets 17 yr olds vote in primaries if they will be 18 by the general, he likely has friends who voted when they were 17 and didn't quite catch the distinction. https://x.com/me_idealist/status/1478376351921065992
  46. Jan 5, 2022Twitter · reply@namenotrequired @LordMacSaw @_holyweather @goblinodds @jnadcyn Modern Indian "arranged" marriages do the reverse- family and friends run the initial search & screening and once an introduction is made then it's more in the hands of the two individuals.
  47. Jan 4, 2022Twitter · reply@RokoMijic I guess my best case scenario would be that people shift to dating robots, and then no one needs to compromise over mismatched desires.
  48. Jan 4, 2022Twitter · repostRT @visakanv: there's a meme of "be the americans that hongkong / cuba thinks you are" I get the sense that this spirit of america will ou…
  49. Jan 4, 2022Twitter · reply@HephaistosF @visakanv Unless we quickly institute a major immigration overhaul so the smartest geekiest Chinese guys move to the US and start their biz here.
  50. Jan 4, 2022Twitter · reply@RokoMijic It's not just "bad sex", it's being randomly choked by a dude who thinks it's sexy/funny/??. It's being raped by someone you thought was a friend at his house party. It's the man who waits to follow you out of the gym and won't take no for an answer.
  51. Jan 4, 2022Twitter · reply@RokoMijic I don't 100% blame it on "pickup", but I gave up on dating many years ago because I found it a net negative, overall.
  52. Jan 4, 2022Twitter · reply@RokoMijic Even if she's not looking for commitment, she's looking for signs the guy will treat her respectfully and be a fun safe experience... Going home with a guy, you never really *know* what you're walking into. By making it harder to judge, women are less inclined to take the risk.
  53. Jan 4, 2022Twitter · reply@RokoMijic Yes teaching men to falsely signal high status, confidence, social skills makes it harder for women to find a man who actually has what she's looking for. Ofc women fought back against the false signals (also negging, poorly executed, is deeply unpleasant on the receiving end)

  57. Jan 2, 2022Twitter · reply@ohydek_szalej @engineers_feed Yeah this. It's terrifying.
  58. Jan 2, 2022Twitter · reply@QiaochuYuan And yeah I have a terrible time focusing on anything else until the taxes are sorted. Also it makes for weird fam dynamic where granddad makes money in our names but we only see the tax headache right now and I worry we sound ungrateful.
  59. Jan 2, 2022Twitter · reply@QiaochuYuan Tax season makes me very anxious every year. This one I'll owe major cap gains tax but won't receive the distribution of gains until early April, so it's tricky to get through the large deposit holding period before the due date.
  60. Jan 2, 2022Twitter · reply@MeiselZachary @DistractedAnna Lol, I think Elon's DIY haircut is kinda funny-looking, but the (publicly) richest guy on the planet shouldn't care whether his haircut pleases the masses.

  65. Jan 1, 2022Twitter · reply@harmonybuilder Carob seeds?
  66. Jan 1, 2022Twitter · reply@pediradnurse @PoleDoctress On one hand this is a demand spike, on the other there's very little slack in the supply chain for this stuff because distributor margins are very low and they're working hard to find "efficiencies" to make up for their massive opioid fines.
  67. Jan 1, 2022Twitter · reply@QiaochuYuan Now do potatoes 😏
  68. Jan 1, 2022Twitter · reply@vgr Omg I was hoping you'd move on to a zen "all is one" schtick for 2022- horseshoe where Kiki and Bouba merge is a promising start 🙏
  69. Jan 1, 2022Twitter · reply@Noahpinion Jefferson would be appalled by Big Ag
  70. Jan 1, 2022Twitter · reply@visakanv Sister homeschools, her kids were very confused when I asked whether they always study on the weekend. I backpedaled pretty hard- sis has a good scam going 🤭 https://t.co/7azehCoJwW

  76. Jan 1, 2022Twitter · reply@RiverTamYDN @tszzl rotating mental shapes in neuralinked shared spaces? The age of the wordcel is drawing to a close.
  77. Jan 1, 2022Twitter · reply@ModeledBehavior @Noahpinion I really think all of these posts are fraudulent- NFT whales looking to create enough hysteria to justify a bailout when it crashes.
  78. Jan 1, 2022Twitter · repostRT @Tippen22: Starlink works great until the cats find out that the dish gives off a little heat on cold days. https://t.co/uyH3Kbqrie
  79. Jan 1, 2022Twitter · reply@pocranium @mattyglesias I'ma actually be upset about his closet full of tests if he's not using them
  80. Jan 1, 2022Twitter · reply@nickcammarata @tszzl @varunramg His low-empathy logical personality often leaves him vaguely in the doghouse and not enough despite his best intentions; new gf is straightforward and enjoys these luxuries, he's enjoying her, and his ability to satisfy her needs.
  81. Jan 1, 2022Twitter · reply@Noahpinion Yay! Would love to hear your take on the upcoming PMA-ILWU negotiation
  82. Jan 1, 2022Twitter · repostRT @nickcammarata: @Aella_Girl @QiaochuYuan We evolved for like 0.1 notifs an hour, not 100
  83. Jan 1, 2022Twitter · reply@DistractedAnna Bezos cares for his appearance except his hair, Elon cares about his fully restored head of hair and nothing else... When their powers combine you get one sexy space billionaire.

  86. Jan 1, 2022Twitter · reply@DannyB03715857 @aginnt Completely serious- I enjoy fireworks too, but can't endorse them when people are dying from the bad air quality https://www.aqi.in/blog/diwali-fireworks-badly-affect-delhi-air-quality/
  87. Jan 1, 2022Twitter · reply@aginnt Sigh, fireworks should be banned worldwide- the air quality impact is terrible. Replace with drone / light shows.

  91. Dec 30, 2021Twitter · quote@DistractedAnna @mattyglesias Also note- the goal of credit scores is to determine likelihood to repay debt, not to punish consumers... They now treat medical debt differently because it's not predictive https://x.com/NCLC4consumers/status/1161967923394764801?t=4ye2Qq0ieqBgtz0YX7aHbA&s=19
  92. Dec 30, 2021Twitter · reply@kyle_benton @paulg @EricTopol Lots of snowbirds got vaccinated before leaving last year- so they count as vaccinated but not as full time residents?
  93. Dec 30, 2021Twitter · reply@robinhanson I'm thinking the gap between M & F is that men are taught to pursue & win over the woman, so there's more of a shift between courting behavior vs steady state reality, and that women feel their "clock is ticking" and resent the time wasted even if there were good parts.
  94. Dec 30, 2021Twitter · reply@robinhanson It's like having a VW diesel, thinking you're driving a "green" car, and then finding out it was cheating on the tests and emitting high levels of pollution all along.
  95. Dec 29, 2021Twitter · reply@amirism_ @joodaloop Although,
